Grant Kniffen

Grant Kniffen (36)

Grant Kniffen taught art in public schools for twenty-eight and a half years.  His art involves traditional themes that include landscape, wildlife, music, western and historical subjects, regionalism, portraiture, Scouting, and the Christian faith.  These subjects are enjoined with a strong emphasis on the narrative.  In composing, he applies early twentieth century Modernist sensibilities to produce new and creative imagery for the viewer to engage.  The strong initial connection through the subject matter allows the viewer to discover the more formal qualities of art within the composition.  Admirers have exclaimed that every time they come back to view a work, they see something new.  Grant’s work has won numerous award recognitions and is in private and public collections.
