Mike Wimmer, a gifted artist, was born in Muskogee, OK. He embarked on his artistic journey by obtaining his BFA from the University of Oklahoma, where he had the privilege of studying under the tutelage of Don Punchatz at The Sketch Pad Studio in Arlington, TX. His passion for artistic growth led him to complete his MFA at the University of Hartford in Hartford, CT. Currently, Mike holds the esteemed position of Professor of Illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) in Savannah, GA. Additionally, he served as the Distinguished Visiting Artist at the School of Visual Arts in the Petree College of Arts and Sciences at Oklahoma City University.
Mike's artistic prowess has garnered widespread recognition, including being featured in an Emmy Award-winning production of the television series "Gallery" that airs on OETA. His artistic repertoire extends to creating artwork for renowned corporations such as Disney, Proctor and Gamble, RJR Nabisco, and Kimberly Clark. He has also had the privilege of painting portraits of esteemed individuals who occupy prominent positions in American society. Recently, Mike's artistry graced the packaging of Celestial Seasons Teas, and he has contributed his talent to crafting nearly 300 book covers for major publishers across the United States.
