I share my joy of nature through my paintings.  While drawing, I work to capture my emotional memory of an experience, simplifying lines and emphasizing shapes.  I choose silk as my canvas because it is translucent and absorbs pigment with a subtle iridescence.  My organic textures, visible through the painted silk are an integral part of my work.  I create these textures with a deconstructive printing process using thickened dyes and silk screens.

I feel very fortunate to have made my living as an artist for my entire adult life.  I find inspiration in my travels, scuba diving, my garden and the woods where I walk everyday.  I still feel excited when I get to spend the day in my studio.
