Born in Kyiv, Ukraine, Sophie was influenced by her uncle, a renowned Lithuanian artist, actor, and producer, from whom she first studied art. In 1998, while pursuing an MBA, she sold her first painting to a small gallery in Cambridge. Since then, she has continuously explored various mediums and styles, never ceasing to paint and experiment. An eureka moment in her artistic journey occurred when she discovered Lilly Pulitzer's playful and colorful art on Pinterest. These vibrant paintings stood in stark contrast to the stern and gloomy Soviet realism that was considered "proper" art during her upbringing in the Soviet Union. Inspired by this happy and colorful aesthetic, she embarked on a mission to create colorful worlds filled with joyful people, places, and animals. Her love for Florida and its bright, summery vibe further fuels her creative endeavors. Today, her work embodies a fusion of diverse artistic influences, blending the richness of her Ukrainian heritage with the lively, cheerful spirit of the Sunshine State.
